LaDwina Flegeance, M.Ed started her career in education as a second-grade teacher after being a stay-at-home housewife for six years. She then moved into a leadership role after receiving her master’s degree from Lamar University in Educational Leadership. Before working in the education system, LaDwina served her local community by volunteering in three church plantings. Her studies at Dallas Theological Seminary have equipped her to be profound in theology. She coordinated, facilitated, and taught the children’s ministry for several years; while implementing a Mother’s Day Out program.
Her leadership role in the community and school districts led her to establish many more entrepreneurship positions. She started a women’s boutique near the grounds of McNeese State University, where she also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Child studies. LaDwina’s passion for giving back to her community has always been one of her top priorities. She joined forces with her husband and entered the Insurance industry. After years of being his protege, LaDwina started her insurance agency, Flegeance Insurance Agency. Her willpower and commitment to owning her business were essential for her womanhood.
She later began mentoring other women seeking opportunities to start their own businesses. She served as an advisor and apprentice to many other successful businesswomen. LaDwina started a nonprofit organization called Fruits of HER Labor for upcoming small businesses owned and operated by women. The foundation awards grants and gives women a platform to express their love for being business owners while creating jobs. LaDwina continues to motivate, inspire, and empower women to lead a self-rewarding and fruitful life. In addition, she enjoys hosting themed gatherings with her family and friends.
