LaDwina Flegeance is an educational leader, nonprofit founder, author, entrepreneur, and community advocate committed to empowering women and strengthening communities. She brings 17 years of experience in public education, including classroom teaching, instructional coaching, curriculum development, professional learning, and leadership.
LaDwina began her career as a second-grade teacher after making the meaningful commitment to serve as a stay-at-home mother for six years. Her commitment to education and leadership later inspired her to earn a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership from Lamar University.
Her continued dedication to public service and community impact led her to pursue an Executive Master of Public Service and Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Family and Human Studies from McNeese State University and has completed graduate-level theological studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.
Before entering public education, LaDwina served her community through three church plants, children’s ministry, and the development of a Mother’s Day Out program. Her professional journey also includes experience in retail entrepreneurship and the insurance industry, where she established Flegeance Insurance Agency. These experiences strengthened her understanding of leadership, business development, service, and the challenges women often encounter while pursuing professional and entrepreneurial goals.
In 2023, LaDwina founded Fruits of HER Labor, a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers women through leadership development, mentorship, skills development, career guidance, and meaningful community connections. Through the organization, she creates pathways for women to strengthen their confidence, expand their opportunities, walk boldly in purpose, and make a lasting impact in their families and communities.
LaDwina is also the #1 international bestselling author of She’s Bearing All Fruits and a recipient of the 2025 Community Impact Award. Her work reflects her belief that when women have access to the right relationships, resources, and opportunities, they can lead fruitful lives and leave legacies of honor.
Originally from Louisiana, LaDwina lives in Katy, Texas, with her family. She proudly embraces her Creole heritage and enjoys cooking, dancing, listening to zydeco and swing-out music, and hosting themed gatherings for family and friends.
